I’m glad you mentioned contrarianism and the Superfreakonomics book in this podcast. If you’re interested, I’ve been tracking the criticisms of that book since before it came out (see my website for more details). Suffice it to say, they appear to be more interested in drumming up controversy than being accurate, showing journalistic integrity, or even demonstrating personal honour. (There’s also a series of criticisms about Jon Stewart’s treatment of that book too.) If you suspect this book is going to have an impact, feel free to pass along some of the criticism found on that page.
